The conservancy area boasts a rich biodiversity, from bushbuck to butterflies to birds to a rich marine intertidal life. The flora is typical of the very endangered Knysna Sand Fynbos vegetation type. The conservancy area contains the largest remaining area of this critically endangered vegetation type.
These pages show just a portion of the rich biodiversity that can be found in the conservancy.
A project to document the biodiversity of the Western Heads- Goukamma Conservancy has been set up on the iNaturalist website. It can be viewed by clicking here.
